DevOps Engineer (Python, Linux) | Medior/Senior | R&D startup in Prague
We are SpaceKnow! We are a technology startup headquartered in Silicon Valley with an office in Karlín, Prague. We specialize in the analysis of satellite imagery and data through our SpaceKnow Guardian® platform, utilizing advanced technologies. Guardian® is capable of analyzing satellite imagery using our proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence. Our goal is to provide users with near real-time data and analytics to support their informed decision-making—and you would have the opportunity to contribute to our growth.
If you are interested in designing and operating highly available Kubernetes clusters, have experience with robust monitoring and logging, and are not afraid to solve the problems that come with it, you are the right person for us. You will join our team of top developers working to develop cutting-edge solutions and products that (literally) impact the world.
What will you do with us
Help us deploy SpaceKnowGuardian® to different on-premise set-ups and manage it
Help us develop the infrastructure architecture for on-premise
Help us create easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage Kubernetes clusters (whether on-premises or in public cloud environments).
Assist with any other system design challenges.

What we expect you to be able to do and know:
Not afraid of hardware infrastructure (you’ve had experience building HW components or you are not afraid to try)
Experience with Kubernetes (ability to deploy an entire cluster with all supporting services - logging, monitoring, etc.) - you definitely can't do without it.
Experience with the Linux ecosystem (systemd, iptables, Docker...).
Knowledge of automation tools (e.g. Ansible, CircleCI ...).
Basic scripting skills (bash, Python... ).
Knowledge of networks (VPN, TLS, firewalls, DNS, routing...).
Knowledge of at least one of the major public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS ...).
Basic understanding of databases - ability to deploy and operate them. There are various (NoSQL and SQL) databases in our stack.
The position is suitable for mid/senior experienced developers who can work both in a team and independently, and are well-organized.
Motivation to participate in the development of a product that has great global ambitions.
Communication skills - we work mostly on-site so it's important to have the ability to communicate well in person
The following is a big advantage:
Experience with the design and operation of HW stacks (switches, firewalls, server units, GPU pools).
Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
Programming experience in Python.
