We are looking for a Data Analyst - Location Intelligence to join our six-member data team. We want a confident and systematic data specialist for whom this is not their "first rodeo".

At BizMachine, data is the basic building block. We use it to build a B2B platform and projects that help hundreds of Czech and international companies find the best business opportunities in the ocean of digital information (imagine a dating site for companies).

What are you going to work on?

The job is quite diverse, but stands on these 2 pillars:

Location Intelligence

We sit on a huge pile of data about various points of sale: venues, warehouses, stores, etc. This data and the insights it provides represent a great opportunity, and we are already running international projects for the biggest players in transportation, e-commerce, and finance. This is where we need your help and energy.
You will familiarize yourself with data sources and ongoing projects and gradually build up your expertise and ownership. You will help us develop our unique data enrichment and fuzzy matching system. Technically, this involves search engines (Elastic?), AI, semantic similarities, etc. (Transformers, AzureOpenAI), as well as building ETL pipelines and quality metrics.
You will be in contact with colleagues who do data engineering, account managers who manage projects, and often with analysts from customers who also need to understand things.

Foreign markets

We collect data on companies from several foreign markets. You will verify the availability of various sources, integrate it, estimate and predict various metrics and attributes of companies. Your goal will be to build a data product of the same quality that we have been proud of in Czechia for years.

Ideal candidate profile

  • You work confidently with a variety of data, organize, connect, and propose appropriate statistical evaluations.
  • You accept and want to take responsibility for your outputs, even in front of customers.
  • You can take on unfamiliar things, sink your teeth into them, and independently learn what is needed.
  • You have 3+ years of real experience in a data analysis position. You will need it.
  • Very, very solid SQL
  • You program in Python - it doesn't have to be entire applications, but you know data manipulation, ETL, and basic OOP
  • You know Azure cloud, ElasticSearch, Mongo, Docker - great, if not, we will teach you.
  • You have experience with commercial work for clients.
  • You want to work at least 4 days a week and will be with us in the office in Karlín at least 2-3 times a week.
  • Professional English - we are an international team and customers do not always speak Czech. You are fun to be around, at least sometimes :)

What do we offer?

  • The opportunity to become a product owner for Location Intelligence data.
  • Huge impact on the company and the success of our customers.
  • Working with Azure cloud, AI models on unique data. GitHub Copilot license as an assistant.
  • A friendly, competent, and somewhat international team, mentoring to get you started.
  • An open, no-nonsense corporate culture based on mutual trust.
  • The speed of a startup with the stability of a company generating tens of millions in revenue.
  • Beautiful offices in the modern Praga Studios building in Karlín.
  • Flexible schedule—want to be with your family every Wednesday? Let's talk.
  • Service at Lékaře.cz for you and your family.
  • 5 weeks of vacation
  • Bonus time off over Christmas when everything is going well
  • Team building and corporate events.

Whats the hiring process?

  • Sign up here, don't call yet, just add your CV/LinkedIn profile.
  • Write us a few sentences about the biggest/most interesting thing you've done with data so far and how did it help the business. We will select based on this and discuss it.
  • Getting to know you - We will contact relevant candidates within a week to arrange a short 30-minute introductory video call with the team lead Jan
  • Practical round - You will come to us for an hour to show us how you think and solve a data problem on the spot.
  • CEO talk -  Coffee with our CEO Martin, who will ask you a few out-of-the-box questions - it's not like Fort Boyard, but you'll have to think on your feet a little.
