Senior Product Designer
We’re seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the evolution and maintenance of Custom Ink’s design system, with a special focus on supporting brand identity changes, enhancing our mobile library, and advancing our visual standards and design quality. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on contributor, a strong collaborator, and an advocate for intuitive, accessible design that enhances the customer journey.
At Custom Ink, we are building an e-commerce platform on which you can design and order custom-printed swag. We also develop the operations and supply chain tooling that powers our business.
What will your responsibilities be?
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll work with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to shape the customer experience across Custom Ink’s digital ecosystem.
Lead Visual Language evolution by creating and maintaining a cohesive set of visual guidelines for all of Custom Ink’s digital products defining color, typography, iconography, motion, grid, shape, illustration and 3D.
Lead Design System development by maintaining reusable components, patterns and template libraries that adhere to accessibility standards, responsive design principles and Custom Ink’s brand guidelines.
Translate Visual Language into clear, actionable documentation and guidelines for widespread adoption and use.
Partner with engineering and product to contribute to the strategic roadmap for the design system, showing an eagerness for continuous improvement through learning and iterating on a growing visual system.
Collaborate with creative and brand to align product visual language with our broader identity and governance.
Advocate for systematic design, teaching best practices and fostering alignment with engineers and designers, to help future proof our system for developing with AI.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to drive evidence-based design decisions.
Iterate designs based on feedback, usability testing, and business objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
What are we looking for?
5+ years of experience in design, with a focus on consumer-facing digital products
Experience with Design Systems, including scaling and maintaining component libraries in a cross-functional environment (mobile library experience a plus)
Strong ability to communicate complex interactive concepts to cross-functional teams and a passionate advocate for design system adoption
Strong background in interaction design, visual design, and information architecture
High proficiency in Figma and mastery of core best practices to support engineering handoffs and AI co-development
Familiarity with accessibility standards (ex. WCAG) and inclusive design practices
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, front-end development best practices
Portfolio showcasing user-centered, visually compelling designs that include clear design rationale and detailed component documentation or design system guidelines.
Language: English proficiency of level of B2 or higher, located in Czechia or Slovakia
