Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Financial Controller for our Finance team. We offer you the opportunity to become an essential part of a fast-growing company. Ticketportal is now part of the Piletilevi Group, an international ticketing company that also includes Piletilevi in Estonia, Bilesu Serviss in Latvia, Bilietai.lt in Lithuania, Bilete.ro in Romania, Kicket in Poland, GoOut & Ticketstream in the Czech Republic, and Ticketportal & GoOut in the Slovak Republic. 

Thanks to this partnership, we offer professional ticketing services across 7 countries and process over 15 million tickets annually for a wide range of events.

Your role will be to:

  • Oversee and coordinate the work of an external accounting company & internal accountants, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper cash flow management and reconciliation of transactions related to ticketing sales and refunds.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of ticketing revenues, payment gateways, and sales platforms, identifying discrepancies and resolving financial inconsistencies.
  • Monitor tax compliance, including VAT reporting, with a focus on industry-specific taxation requirements.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to collect and analyze financial data for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in audit preparations and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Monitor financial trends, identifying risks and opportunities for efficiency improvements.

We expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in the ticketing, entertainment, or e-commerce industries.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards, IAS/IFRS.
  • Experience in working with external accounting firms and ensuring financial compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring alignment with company financial strategies.
  • Knowledge of ticketing industry financial practices, including revenue recognition, refunds, and VAT implications, is a big plus.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Abra (which we use), is also a plus.
  • Fluent communication skills in Czech (to liaise with Czech authorities and external accounting company) and proficiency in English (your direct manager is a non-Czech speaker).
