Are you passionate about maps, geospatial data, and building datasets that power millions of maps around the world? Join MapTiler as a Maps & Data Product Lead, where you will take the helm of our diverse and technically complex data products — including satellite and aerial imagery, terrain data, and vector datasets like OpenMapTiles and MapTiler Planet.

Your mission is to drive our maps and data forward while guiding and supporting the team behind it. You’ll work on everything from global satellite mosaics to high-resolution local aerial imagery, terrain modeling, landcover classification, and building footprints sourced from providers like Microsoft, GSI, OpenStreetMap, and public institutions.

You can work from anywhere in Czechia or join us in our newly renovated modern office in the center of Brno.

How we work

• We work in 2-week sprints.

• We plan development in Jira, as well as individual tasks.

• Our applications run in Docker containers, we version Ansible playbooks in Git and keep documentation in Confluence.

• Google Workspace is used for electronic communication (Chat, Meet, Email).

• The company's structure is based on the unFIX model, which helps innovation and agile development.

What you will do

Product management of Maps

• Forming product vision, scope, and direction together with the team 

• Customer data analysis and needs assessment

• Preparing the work for the team, planning the maps and datasets roadmap

• Competition and market monitoring

• Oversee the input data sources

• Preparing materials for marketing

• Monitoring and reporting

Team leader of the Data team

• Long-term planning and grooming meetings

• Meetings facilitation and retrospectives

• Represent the team at management and company meetings

• Communication and work synchronisation with other team managers

What we expect from you

• Team leadership focus and product management experience

• Cartography and map design focus, experience or education

• Understanding and experience of geospatial data models and data formats (raster, vector, geospatial database, GeoTiff, Shapefile, etc.) 

• Map publishing and web map development basics

Nice to have

• Web mapping standards (OGC OWS, JSON and Tiles)

• Familiarity with MapTiler stack (MapTiler Engine, Cloud, MapTiler SDK/MapLibre)
