Senior Python Developer 🚀
As Senior Python developer at Ematiq you will be working on tools that aid in quantitative analysis, development of new services to support our trading business and implementation of trading strategies running in the production.
We are looking for people who are passionate about development of performant, strongly typed Python based applications and have knowledge of asynchronous programming, ideally via asyncio. We use a custom actor-based library combining asyncio and multiprocessing to handle a high volume of real-time events with maximum responsiveness and performance.
Our Python applications are written with performance implications in mind and you are expected to understand and optimize these aspects directly in the code based on business requirements.
We appreciate engineers who are able to strike a balance between quality and speed—quickly prototyping to validate business ideas when needed and also writing high-quality, production-level code for core systems. While this role requires strong technical expertise, it is equally about deeply understanding the needs of the trading department. You will work closely with traders to gather insights, identify challenges, and translate their requirements into effective technical solutions that drive business success.
What will be your daily responsibilities? 📋
- designing, developing and supporting new Python based async systems and services
- coordinating with our Python Lead on maintaining proper code quality standards
- quick prototyping efforts to validate commercial / product level hypothesis
steadily improving quality of codebase, ideally by leading by good example
