Junior Legal / Compliance Officer, funded Silicon Valley-style startup (company stock options), based in Prague
🚀 About Myriad
We are building a reliable, scalable AI-powered compliance platform that enables enterprises to navigate complex regulatory requirements and empower them to make faster, better-informed decisions.
This represents a fundamental shift in how organizations manage compliance across sectors, from financial services and big tech to law firms and consultants. Delivering on this vision requires close collaboration across disciplines, combining legal expertise, technical engineering, and operational insight.
Myriad is founded and developed by individuals with robust technical backgrounds, forged in Silicon Valley and molded by necessity, and designed by legal and compliance professionals from Big Law, in-house environments, and academia.
Our team comes from leading global institutions and top-tier companies:

We bring together individuals with diverse expertise who are driven to tackle some of the most complex challenges at the intersection of technology and law - and to deliver meaningful impact for our clients worldwide.
We are backed by top US and EU venture capital firms, with multiple years of runway to execute our vision.

Compliance isn’t just about regulations and checkboxes - it’s the bedrock of trust, stability, and ethical progress in the global economy. It protects financial systems from fraud, shields consumers from exploitation, and ensures that businesses operate with integrity.
We believe compliance should not be reduced to filling out Excel sheets. It should be embedded seamlessly into everyday operations - through environments that transparently translate legal requirements into executable technical rules. Help us build it.

🎉 About You
You're a dynamic, proactive, and impact-driven professional excited to redefine how compliance works in the digital age. You thrive in fast-moving environments, collaborate easily across legal, product, and engineering teams, and are as fearsome interpreting regulation as you are co-designing software solutions (no worries - we will teach you).
You don’t just follow rules - you challenge how they are interpreted, operationalised, and scaled. You are curious about technology, open to learning new tools (built on AI), and eager to play a strategic role - not just complete a checklist.
Most of all, you are looking for a role where you can move fast, think big, and leave your mark on the future of compliance.
We’re looking for people who want to be part of the era of AI - those excited to shape how intelligent systems and human judgment come together to set new standards in compliance. Be there when it starts!
👨‍🔬 About the role
We’re hiring for a junior legal/compliance role - but the work goes far beyond traditional expectations. Legal engineering is a newly created profession that didn’t exist just a few years ago.
This is not a back-office role. You’ll be on the front line of the business, using legal expertise to actively deliver the best outcomes for users.
We are seeking recent Law/Legal Studies graduates (or in the final stage of your studies) or PhD students, with a focus on EU or US law, to join an innovative team working with AI tools on a daily basis.
Your main goal will be to onboard and improve the accuracy and reliability of AI systems in interpreting and applying EU/US legal texts.
👨‍🔬 In this role you will
Operate at the frontier of law, AI, and product design, contributing to systems that redefine how regulation is interpreted and applied
Deconstruct complex regulatory frameworks (e.g., AI Act, DORA, GDPR) into structured, machine-readable logic
Collaborate with AI engineers and senior legal experts to build scalable compliance infrastructure
Contribute to the development of legal knowledge architectures (taxonomies, decision trees, atomic rules)
Work directly with Large Language Models (LLMs) - evaluating outputs, refining prompts, and learning prompting and programming skills
Engage in applied legal engineering, where your work directly shapes product functionality and client outcomes
Participate in product iteration and strategic discussions, influencing how the platform evolves
đź“– Qualifications
Degree in Law or Legal Studies, or a related field (PhD candidates or graduates strongly preferred)
Additional certifications in compliance (ICA, ACAMS, or similar) are an advantage
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
Strong interest and expertise in comparative law, AI, legal tech, and regulatory innovation (prior exposure is a plus, not a requirement)
High attention to detail and ability to work with complex, multi-layered information
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-structuring skills
Outstanding legal writing and drafting abilities
Ability to bridge legal reasoning with technical implementation (structured thinking, logic-driven approach)
Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Note: previous work references might be required.
