Are you an experienced WebGPU Developer looking for an exciting challenge? Join our team to work on the MapTiler WebGPU SDK, a cutting-edge tool for high-performance rendering and interactive visualization. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with graphics and geospatial experts to enhance, optimize, and scale the SDK, enabling developers worldwide to build next-level 3D and GPU-accelerated applications.

You can work from anywhere in Europe or join us in our newly renovated modern office in the center of Brno.

How we work

  • We work in 2-week sprints.
  • We plan development in Jira, as well as individual tasks.
  • Our applications run in Docker containers, we version Ansible playbooks in Git and keep documentation in Confluence.
  • Google Workspace is used for electronic communication (Chat, Meet, Email).
  • The company's structure is based on the unFIX model, which helps innovation and agile development.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and improve the MapTiler WebGPU SDK.
  • Implement GPU-accelerated rendering and visualization features for maps and geospatial data.
  • Work on cutting-edge visualizations of Gaussian splats.
  • Optimize GPU and CPU code for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and geospatial teams to integrate feedback and deliver high-quality features. 
  • Write clean, well-documented code and comprehensive unit & E2E tests.

What we expect from you

  • Strong proficiency in WebGPU and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with GPU programming concepts (shaders, pipelines, buffers, textures).
  • Knowledge of modern web technologies and performance optimization strategies.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphics or frontend development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A team player who collaborates on common outcomes.
  • A strong drive for learning, self-improvement, and sharing knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills (C1 English).

Nice to have

  • Hands-on knowledge of Gaussian splatting.
  • Understanding of geospatial libraries and interactive visualization techniques.
  • Background in GIS or map-related visualization.
  • Contributions to open-source GPU or visualization projects.
  • Experience with Vulkan/Metal API.
